Claire’s thank you for Walton bus shelter

Stone resident Claire Scott was understandably becoming frustrated at the lack of a bus shelter along the Eccleshall Road at Walton, so decided to take matters into her own hands, and her persistence has paid off.

“Back in November 2014 I contacted Stafford Borough Council and Staffordshire County Council to no avail. Instead they suggested I got in touch with Adshel, the company who deal with shelters on behalf of the Borough, and Stone Town Council. Happily Stone Town Council and in particular Harry Brunt took up my request, he even got an article about it published in the Newsletter.

“The stop is very well used and there was just no cover when it rained a problem which was compounded by the spray from the road, so the new bus shelter really is appreciated by myself and my fellow travellers. Indeed, I was particularly pleased that it is a full shelter which includes a seat.

“I would also like to add how helpful the Town Clerk, Mr Trigg, has been in keeping me updated with the progress of my request for a shelter. He always responded very clearly and promptly so I cannot praise him highly enough and I extend a personal thank you to him.

Once again, thank you very much from myself and all the dry(!) bus users in the Walton area.”[/box]
