Crafts in the spotlight at station event

Jeanette at Yarn Gathering in 2011 with some items from a ‘knitted garden’ for Stone In Bloom

Lovely to hear from Jeanette from YarnGathering, the lovely yarn shop on Radford Street that she was forced to close recently (due to health reasons). The spirit of YarnGathering is still strong, though, and there’s an event in June that you may be interested in if you’re into your knitting and needlecraft!

Over to Jeanette…

YarnGathering of Stone may not be there any more but all the local wonderful crafters and makers I know are still around. So ‘Jeanette of YarnGathering’ invites all to a CrafterDay or CrafterAfternoon or even a CrafterHour.

WHEN : June 1st 2013

WHERE : Stone station community centre, Stone ST15 8ER

TIME : 10.30 – 15.30

COST: £3 & £1 child

Come along and sit and knit, sew, crochet, spin…..whatever is your joy. Share your projects and skills. Pass out your business cards if you are a maker.

There will be a Chinese Auction (see Wikipedia for how this works) so bring along all your unwanted craft items and supplies. Proceeds will go to Medicins Sans Frontieres via the knitters charity www.p-hop. You will be able to learn more of p/hop and see their most popular patterns on the day.

And most importantly there will be tea, coffee, cake and cookies :) Children are most welcome to come along and craft too.

Stone Station Community Centre is a wonderful place, on one level, full of lovely light and so interesting. You can catch a train from Stafford literally to the front door and parking is great.

Look forward to seeing you

  • Hi
Is this still on? Ok to come along and just mooch? Will it be regular event/get together do you think?
    Sally

  • Sorry!.. I thought it was a wider “craft” based event and not a more specific needles and yarn kind of thing. Good luck!

  • hope to come down. i do crochet for charity . always looking for ideas and help with cost

  • Hi could we play a part? We are Stones’ only brewery. Family owned and brewing award winning ales.

Hi Ian, in what context do you mean ‘play a part’?  Regards Jeanette
