Friends and family of Phil ‘Skinny’ James are holding a memorial cricket tournament on 30th August to raise money for a charity that works to prevent young people taking their own lives.
Phil died in hospital two days after being hit by a train in Stone in September 2014. The charity day takes place at Oulton Cricket Club, the last club that Phil – who was just 19 when he died – played for.
There will be four teams taking part in four matches on the day, led by team captains Lee James, Nic Bigham, Rory Jones and Danny Cutler. If you want to get involved, it costs £10 per player, with all proceeds going to the Papyrus charity.
The all-day event starts at 9.30am, and there is food and drink available all day, as well as lots of other games and prizes.

Papyrus provides confidential help and advice to young people and anyone worried about a young person. It helps others to prevent young suicide by working with and training professionals and much more. Visit www.papyrus-uk.org to find out more about this great charity.
