An eggciting Easter Egg hunt will be taking place in town on Saturday 19th April, from 10am – 3pm.

It’s open to all children up to the age of 16. However, they must be accompanied by an adult.

If you’d like to take part in the eggstravaganza, you can register in advance at Glitz in the Bag (located above Tylman of Stone), CJ’s Accessories (in the Arcade entrance) or Plants Jewellers (on the High St). The entry fee is just £1 per child.

Here’s the lowdown – on the day children who have registered will be given a map & the all important clue sheet. They will need to solve the eggstremely tricky cryptic clues that will lead them to a shop where a mystery letter will be on display. Once they have all the letters, they will need to use their eggspertise to unscramble them to spell out an Easter message.

The maps will be given out at the Totally Locally tent in the Market Square on the day. Parents can register children in the day but be aware that spaces will be limited. Each child will receive an Easter Egg on full completion of the clue sheet. Chocadooby! To add to the fun, there will be a face painter on hand, an ice cream van supplying mouthwatering treats, and there are also plans for a balloon seller & street entertainers to be present.

As if that wasn’t enough, Tylman of Stone are running a free children’s colouring competition where 2 winners will be picked (1 from each age category). The winners will win a £10 voucher each to spend on toys at the store.

Boo-tique are also running a raffle that day.

Birchill and Watson pharmacy are holding an Easter raffle, which will be taking place on the 17th. Tickets are just £1, proceeds to Claire Hubbard’s Seek the Leak, which you can read about here –
