Election Commenting Guidelines
Commenting on the A Little Bit of Stone (ALBOS) website and our social media accounts is governed by our Commenting Guidelines, which have been developed over the past 12+ years to ensure we have a platform that encourages constructive debate.
The following election / political guidelines sit in addition to those guidelines.
- Making claims: If you make a claim as part of our election coverage, we may ask for evidence. Where evidence isn’t provided or doesn’t back up your claim, this will be highlighted, and we will publish details of such claims.
- Fact-checking: Politically made claims will be documented and fact-checked – we will publish our fact-check statements where we see fit across our social media and website. We won’t be making posts directly on candidates’ or political parties’ own accounts. You can request a fact check of a statement by emailing factcheck@alittlebitofstone.com You can find out more on our dedicated ALBOS Fact Check page
- Co-ordinated commenting: Please don’t use coordinated campaigns in our comments section. These could fall foul of our existing commenting guideline that states: “Please do not cut and paste your comment into multiple threads. Comments may be removed if they repeat points already made by the same commenter, or if they appear to be part of an organised campaign.”
- Multiple personas: Please use a single social media account for all of your commenting. This can be a candidate account or your personal account however, we ask you to be consistent and use a single account.
Breaches of our guidelines may result in accounts being banned from commenting on our website and social media platforms.
