Family statement after tragic railway death

Becky Tait

The family of the young woman who died after being hit by a train on Sunday have thanked people in the town for their support since the tragic incident and shared a photograph.

They sent us this statement and the photograph above today:

Sadly, on Sunday 9th November at around 6.15pm, Becky Tait, aged 20, tragically took her own life whilst at the Church Street/Redhill Road railway crossings. We would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes, support and floral tributes and would be most grateful as a family if you could allow us to grieve privately. We know Becky will be sadly missed by so many of you. The funeral arrangements will follow.

Our thoughts are very much with Becky’s family and friends.
