Now that work has begun on the new Joule’s Brewery development, the decision has been taken to close the free car park on the Crown Wharf site from Monday.
In a note left on vehicles today Joule’s stated:
“We have decided that we will have to close the Crown Wharf car park for public parking from this Monday, the 11th of March at 7am.
We wanted to leave it available until the last possible minute to help everyone as much as we could. Our feeling is with the surface getting a bit off road, and as we start to do more intensive preparations, that it is simpler to close it permanently. The more we have planned the project then we have worked out that it is not practical to open and close, and with any development site security and safety needs to be managed, and lastly we will need to close at some point so we thought best rip off the plaster now.
I hope the extra parking has been helpful, and our apoligies to any inconvenience that we are closing it a bit earlier than we had hoped, and most especially to the town centre workforce, let’s hope that some alternatives will emerge soon.
As a gesture of goodwill please find enclosed a voucher for two pints of Joule’s Beer at either the Royal Oak Eccleshall or the Butchers Arms in Forsbrook to give you a taste of what’s to come.”
