High Street set for Coronation party on Sunday 7th May

Coronation BannerStone Town Council have released details of their Coronation party that’s taking place in the High Street on Sunday, the 7th of May, the day after the King’s official Coronation.

Stone has a rich history of celebrating big events, so why not create some lifelong memories and head into town to celebrate with your friends, family or members of your community.

The event kicks off at 12:30pm so head down to the High Street around midday to claim a good spot.

Everyone is welcome and invited to this free-to-access, majestic family fun day!

There will be a variety of entertainment throughout the afternoon.

On the stage, with approximate starting times, are:

  • 12:30 PM – The Town Mayor opening the event alongside Stone Choral Society.
  • 1:00 PM – Head over Heels, Brilliant 80’s tribute band.
  • 2:15 PM – Murphy’s Marbles, featuring the one and only Sean Cannon, of the Dubliners.
  • 3:45 PM – Bjorn UK, leading Abba tribute band.

Kath Stanway is our compere for the day, and her duo act, Vinyl Overdrive, will be playing in between sets.

The event is expected to finish at around 5:00 PM.

Children’s entertainment, including the wonderful Warwick’s Funfair, will be there to delight and entertain everyone; there will also be an opportunity to purchase food and refreshments from High Street pubs and restaurants. 

Calling all master bakers of every age! There will be a prize for the best Coronation-themed cake. We can’t wait to see the best of British baking from Stone’s culinary talent. (Please take your cake to the Crown Hotel between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on the day, and include a list of ingredients).
