Historic water mill opens to the public

A restored 17th century water mill in Stone will be open to the public this weekend as part of the Heritage Open Days programme.

Mosty Lea flint grinding mill will be open on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September from 1.30pm to 4pm and is well worth a visit – you can see photos and a report from the 2010 Most Lea Heritage Open Day by clicking HERE.

If you’re going along you’ll have to park at Kibblestone Scout Camp on Kibblestone Road in Oulton. There’s then a beautiful walk through the Moddershall Valley to Mosty Lea.

Volunteers will be on hand to bring the history of this amazing building to life – and the water wheel will be turning!

Admission is free, although donations towards the upkeep of Mosty Lea are welcomed.
