Morrisons came out on top in the battle-of-the-supermarkets charity football match at Westbridge Park. But the real winners were the British Heart Foundation and the Teenage Cancer Trust, who will be sharing more than £700 that was raised from the event.
A team from Morrisons beat a Co-op team 6-1 on Sunday in a match in memory of Tim Perry and Ryan Banks, two young Stone men who tragically lost their lives aged just 19. A minute’s silence was held before the match, which saw over 100 people turning up to support the fundraisers, including members of Staffordshire University’s cheerleading squad!
You can still donate to the charities by getting in touch with Jon Robinson on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/jon.robinson.79 or on Twitter: @JonRobinson_ Alternatively, email news@alittlebitofstone.com and we’ll pass your details on.
