Jamie Edwards signs for Nykos Racing in 2017

Stone motorcycle racer Jamie Edwards has signed to ride for  NYKOS  Racing in the 2017 FIM CEV European Moto2 Championship.

Jamie has gained a wealth of experience riding 125’s and most recently competed in the British 125 GP championship, ending the season 9th with two visits to the podium. During his 10 year racing career Jamie has achieved in excess of 50 race podiums in both 125cc and 600cc classes and held the 125 lap record at the National Anglesey Circuit.

Jamie took a season out from short circuit racing during 2014 to accomplish a life time ambition of competing in the Manx GP. After a number of mechanical failures leading up to the main event, Jamie finished both races and achieved respectable results in the newcomers and senior races receiving replica trophy’s in both and recorded an average lap speed of 108 mph.

The bike is being constructed by Stuart Nicholls in collaboration with Neil Proctor-Blain. Stuart has over 20 years experience in World Grand Prix, including taking riders from National level to World Championship. Neil has over 40 years of chassis designing expertise including for Kenny Roberts GP bikes and the World Championship winning Aprilia RSA. The Nykos bike has been completely designed and built in Great Britain.

NYKOS Racing have entered into the Hel Motostar British Championship since 2013, finishing third overall during the 2013 season and achieving several  podium finishes in 2014 and 2015.. In 2017 we will see the introduction of the NYKOS Moto2 project which is the first of many exciting steps where the team will begin to further develop the chassis to enable us to compete in Moto2 European and World Championship racing.
