Staffordshire County Council is offering a helping hand to people in Stone who are looking for a fresh start in the autumn.
Due to the popularity of the ‘Spring into Work’ event at Stone Library in May, it has been decided to make it a monthly event until November to help give local jobseekers the boost they need to find work.
As part of a partnership initiative including National Careers Service, Signposts, Staffordshire County Council’s ‘Start2’ with Jobcentre plus, Stone Library will continue to host the free job support events on the first Tuesday of every month.
The free next job support afternoon will be held on Tuesday 3rd September at Stone Library in Market Square from noon to 3pm.
This drop-in event is aimed at anyone who would like to know more about a new career, current vacancies, starting their own business, or looking to find a way back into education, re-training or volunteering. Help available on the day will include support with online job searches, basic IT skills, CVs and interview techniques.
Mike Lawrence, County Council Cabinet Member for Community, Culture and Localism said: “Staffordshire County Council is doing all it can to promote growth and employment across the county, and I am proud that Staffordshire Libraries are playing a crucial part in contributing to this.
“Many more job-related services are now being delivered over the internet and local libraries are a perfect point of access. The jobs market is still very tough at the moment and jobseekers need all the help they can get to find work. Many of our libraries already have regular work clubs where people are finding the help they need to get back into employment or training.”
