This year, a team from North Wales took part in a special challenge against a Staffordshire team, with the North Wales runners coming out on top. Local schools also entered relay teams – and there was the usual children’s fun run in the associated St Michael’s First School summer fayre. Olympic torchbearer Rita Banks from Stone Master Marathoners was at the summer fayre, where people could give a donation to the school’s Kenya school campaign in exchange for a photo of themselves with the torch.
