I agree with the previous comment. I live on a road at the top of Pirehill Lane and I have 2 young children. When crossing at the pelican crossing next to the row of shops, I always wait until cars have completely stopped, even when the green man is showing, as cars seem to come over the brow of the hill extremely fast. I cannot comment if this was the cause of the accident on Saturday as I only saw the aftermath. I believe that many cars travelling along this stretch of road are going faster than the speed limit. I hope the gentleman involved in the accident recovers quickly from his injuries.

As a resident near the top of Pirehill Lane, I do feel concerned by the speed of many cars on that road. Sadly, I’ve noticed a number of residents are amongst the culprets. I would suggest a 20mph limit from top to bottom, particularly as we have the school children coming and going to Walton Priory and to Pirehill Primary. Ideally a notice also to those that tend to park their cars on the brow of the hill, which is also on a bend, to please be mindful of the potentail danger they encourage by forcing cars ino the line of unseen oncoming vehicles. Let’s look after each other folks! Walton is such a lovely place to live. x
