Motorcyclist dies in Stone

A motorcyclist died near Stone this morning after coming off his bike in Dayhills.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the junction of the B5027 Uttoxeter Road and the B5066 Sandon Road in Dayhills, Stone, at around 10.30am on Thursday 29th December.

An ambulance, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire, a medic, a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a motorcyclist who had left the road and ended up in a ditch. The motorcyclist, a man, was off his bike and in cardiac arrest.

“Crews and the medic quickly started administering emergency treatment in an attempt to resuscitate the man at the roadside. Sadly, despite their best efforts nothing could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The man, who was 32, has not yet been named by police. He was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle. Witnesses should call Sgt Darren Burney on 101, quoting incident number 191 of 29th December.
