A new dessert-focused business, My Dessert Palace, has recently opened up at the Pirehill Lane shopping parade; we caught up with the owners to find out more!
There’s been an empty unit on the Pirehill Lane parade of shops for quite a while now, so it was fantastic to see that the doors were opened on a new venture just before Christmas!
Husband and wife team Shazad and Sadia already have an established catering business outside of the area, but living in Yarnfield, they wanted to start a new family business, more local to home.
We caught up with the couple to find out more about their new shop, and why they chose Walton for it, the couple told us:
“We really liked the Walton area as we always found the people there nice and we thought that if people can’t get into town, this gives them somewhere local to meet up with friends, family or just to bring the kids down.
The shop had been empty for quite a while and it seemed a shame to leave it that way so we wanted to make it welcoming for people.
Since we opened at the end of 2021 we’ve been made to feel very welcome by local residents and the other shop keepers have been nice too.
We really hope that we can bring something new and different to the area, somewhere you can come in sit down and grab some sweet treats, or alternatively takeout or have a delivery!”
With a name like My Dessert Palace, we wanted to hear what type of things they had on the menu; the couple told us:
“We have an amazing selection of cakes, ice cream, hot drinks, toast, scones, tea cakes, milkshakes, waffles and more!, All available for sit-in dining, take out or home delivery.”
On what could visitors expect when they visit My Dessert Palace, we were told:
“Although we are not as big as some of the shops in the town our small and friendly team will always do our best to give the best service we can.
Currently, we’re not offering things suitable for a number of allergens such as dairy or gluten free, purely from the fact we’re a small and new business and we need to understand whether there is a demand for such things before we can add them to the menu.
We are open 12.00pm till 10.00pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with shorter hours on Sunday when we ae open 4.00pm till 10.00pm. We are closed on Tuesdays.
For customers wanting it our delivery service starts from 5.00pm but collection and sit-in dining is available from our opening time each day.
We are really looking forward to being a part of the Walton and Stone community, and bringing more customers to our little parade of shops.”

I noticed Mohammad Hussain has been voluntarily struck off the Reguster at Companies House for this business. This is public information that anyone can see and read on Gov.UK. Perhaps you could bring us all up-to-date about the operation of this business as I pass often and never see customers inside. It must be a real struggle to survive.
