A brand-new escape room experience with a 1940s twist is set to open on Whitebridge Estate this summer, offering puzzle fans and adventurers a chance to step back in time – and test their wits.
An immersive take on a growing trend
Escape rooms have grown in popularity across the UK, but Chase the Adventure is doing things a little differently. The upcoming venue in Stone is fully themed around the 1940s, and not just visually. From the props and decor to the tools and technology used in the puzzles themselves, everything has been carefully curated to fit the period.
“We want players to feel like they’ve genuinely stepped into a different era,” says Kim, one of the creators behind the venture. “It’s not just about escaping the room – it’s about escaping modern life for an hour.”
Opening July 2025 on Whitebridge Estate
The venue is located at 22B Whitebridge Estate, just five minutes on foot from Stone train station and with free parking on site. The business is aiming to open to the public in July 2025.
The first room, The Human Wolf, is a horror-themed adventure running until November. Set in a shadowy research facility in wartime Europe, players are recruited to investigate the disappearance of Professor Hans Booker and the strange secret he never got to reveal. Expect tension, mystery, and a few surprises – but nothing too gory.

From November, the horror room will transform into a Christmas-themed experience, forming part of a seasonal cycle. Alongside the rotating room will be a permanent escape experience that remains in place year-round, giving fans a reason to return again and again.
Accessibility at its core
Inclusivity is a key part of the design. The venue offers:
- Disabled parking directly outside the unit
- A ramp to bypass stairs at the entrance
- A fully accessible toilet
- Wheelchair-friendly room layouts
- Optional adjustments for sound-sensitive visitors
Players can note any accessibility requirements during booking or let the host know on arrival.
Family-friendly – with a few rules
While younger players are welcome, each booking must include at least one adult aged 18 or over. The puzzles are designed to suit a mix of abilities and ages, with something for everyone – from dexterity and language to logic and maths. Groups can be between 2 and 6 people, with 4 being the sweet spot for most bookings.
More than just puzzles
Chase the Adventure also plans to offer a small range of escape room-themed souvenirs and games, giving visitors a way to take home a memory – or challenge friends and family afterwards.
Opening hours will be:
- Friday and Monday evenings from 6:00 pm
- Saturdays and Sundays with start times from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Booking isn’t live just yet, but fans can keep an eye on the website at www.chasetheadventure.co.uk
