New seating arriving at Platform 2!

There'll be no more waiting propped up against the wall on Platform 2 soon

Passengers who wait for trains to Stafford and beyond at Stone station will soon have a much more comfortable experience with the news that seating is to be installed on Platform 2.

Platform 1 has a seating area but, so far, passengers on Platform 2 have had to stand while they wait for their trains. But that’s about to change.

London Midland said on the campaigning website Fix My Transport: “Good new folks – we’ve been to Stone and found a lovely spot for a nice new bench on Platform 2. There is quite a long lead time from the manufacturers for such things, but the good news is that you will at last have somewhere to sit!”

London Midland haven’t yet said how long a “long lead time” is.

The new seating will be the latest improvement at the station following the installation of electronic information boards in June this year.

Brilliant result! Stone Town Council tried for several years without success to get a seat on the platform. Then along came FixmyTransport and bingo! The power of the web at work!
