Nominations open for Pride In Your Patch awards

Community-spirited residents from Stone and across Stafford Borough could be in line for an award for helping improve their neighbourhood.

Members of the public, schools, parish councils, councillors, allotment holders and residents’ associations are being asked to nominate people who make a difference by cleaning, tidying or carrying out other tasks to make their area look attractive.

This is the third year Stafford Borough Council has held the Pride in Your Patch Awards and there are more categories this year, including:

  • Action in the Community (Group)
  • Action in the Community (Individual)
  • Inspiring Others (Group)
  • Inspiring Others (Individual)
  • Your Patch – Front Garden

Judges look at the benefit and importance of projects to a community, as well as originality, innovation and sustainability, and how suitable they would be to run in other areas.

[box type=”shadow” align=”aligncenter” ]Councillor Frank Finlay, Cabinet Member for Environment and Health, said: “These awards are all about recognising the unsung heroes in our Borough. They could be the kind of people who have co-ordinated litter picks or clean-ups, produced wonderful hanging baskets or worked with the council on community projects that have improved their area. We just need people to come forward with nominations.”[/box]

The closing date for entries is 30th September and winners will be announced at the ‘Pride in Your Patch’ awards ceremony on 10th November.
