Rip-roaring adventures, daring deeds and magical tales of mystery all feature in a debut book inspired by one of the most famous writers of all time.

Dave Stone’s children’s book, The Adventures of Tom, Jack and Joe, will be published by Panda Press in May. The printing and design firm, of Newcastle Street, Stone, has helped Dave to put together the collection of short adventure stories.

Following the exciting exploits of three brothers, the book draws inspiration from bestselling children’s author, Enid Blyton. Dave, who lives in Stafford, has turned to the art of traditional storytelling to create an imaginative world of riddles, enchantment and haunted houses.

He said: “I’ve always loved Enid Blyton’s writing and always enjoyed reading adventure stories. My book tells the story of three boys who love to go out exploring and solving mysteries. I’m looking forward to sharing it with other people and plan to start approaching some independent book shops to see if they would be interested in stocking it.”

Thanks to Panda Press, Dave even enlisted Staffordshire-based illustrator and freelance designer Heather Horsley to help bring his vision to life.

Hannah Tunnicliffe, sales director at Panda Press, said: “Heather’s illustrations really capture the spirit of Dave’s adventure stories, which in turn are inspired by good, old-fashioned storytelling. We are always pleased to be able to work with authors to transform their ideas from initial concept through to print. Over the years, Panda Press has helped countless writers to self-publish everything from poetry to local history and cookery books to novels.

“In this case, we were able to put Dave in touch with a great illustrator who understood his ideas. The result is a book he can be really proud of.”

The Adventures of Tom, Jack and Joe by Dave Stone will be printed by Panda Press this month.
