Panda’s Environmental Support

Woodland TrustPanda Press, the Stone-based print and design company, is doing its bit to help protect the environment, by supporting the Woodland Trust.

In their line of work Panda Press obviously uses a lot of paper but to counteract this, the company is taking part in the Trust’s Woodland Carbon for Business Scheme, which helps companies like theirs by planting trees.

Businesses often generate large amounts of carbon which contributes to higher levels of greenhouse gas emissions. This unique scheme helps companies reduce these emissions by planting woodland throughout the UK.

Sales Director Hannah Tunnicliffe says she hopes by being part of the scheme, customers will have more peace of mind. She said: “It’s well documented that harmful greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide emission (co2) mean that our planet is getting hotter.

She added: “By donating to this scheme, we know that for every piece of paper we use to print we are giving something back. For example, in 2015 by signing up for this initiative we have created more than 200 square metres of woodland which has removed more than 8,219kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.”

Panda Press clients can help by electing to capture the carbon from the manufacture and distribution of the paper used in their print jobs. The amount of Co2 generated in the production and delivery of customers’ paper is calculated and the results fed through to the Woodland Trust who will then plant the equivalent number of trees.
