Gary says: “I was walking along the canal and the heron was about, clearly looking for his lunch. I managed to capture him launching himself off the bank side to the water, where he successfully caught a small fish. The middle photo is the moment just before he snatched the fish. The photos were taken by the chandlery near Newcastle Road.”
