
Polling cards are now landing on doormats across Stone as preparations continue for the Staffordshire County Council elections on Thursday 1st May.
Residents are being reminded that photographic ID is now required to vote in person, with polling cards offering full details of where to vote and what to bring.
If you’re not yet registered, you have until Friday 11th April to sign up. It only takes a few minutes online. If you live in Stone and want a say in local decisions, casting your vote matters.
This May’s election covers all nine divisions of the county council, with decisions affecting services across Staffordshire, including highways, education and care. The count will take place on Friday 2nd May.

Stafford Borough Council, which is overseeing the election locally, is also reminding voters that if you don’t have acceptable photo ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. The deadline to apply is 5:00 pm on Wednesday 23rd April.
