The new Post Office in Stone opens at 9 am on Monday 15th October after the closure of the Co-op in January 2018.
After a public consultation and internal refit, the new Post Office is ready to serve customers of Stone, with up to 3 counters available.
In addition to the postal service, the branch will also sell a range of stationery and confectionery.
The Post Office will be opened to the public from 9am on Monday the 15th of October with an official opening by the Stone Town Mayor on Friday 19th.
You can find the new Post Office at the former Stone Pharmacy building, 5-7 High Street, Stone.
Stone Post Office will be open six days per week with opening hours of:
- Monday 9 am – 5:30 pm
- Tuesday 9 am – 5:30 pm
- Wednesday 9 am – 5:30 pm
- Thursday 9 am – 5:30 pm
- Friday 9 am – 5:30 pm
- Saturday 9 am – 2:30 pm
Now that the Post Office has been restored to the town the Stone Town Council Post Office Bus service will cease operation after Tuesday 16th October.
Councillor Rob Kenney, Chairman of the Council’s General Purposes Committee, said:
“It is great to see a Post Office opening in the High Street once again. I wish them well.
The Council has tried to help those worst affected while there has been no post office by the provision
of a free bus service. I hope that those that used the bus found the service helpful.”

Where can I park?
Free parking is available along Lichfield Street and Lichfield Road, there is also a disabled only car park on Stafford Street. Customers using Morrisons and the M&S Foodhall will find the Post Office a short walk from the stores.
Where do I post my letters?
There is a post box outside of Mojos Indian Restaurant, opposite the Post Office. The main Post Box will remain at the top of the High Street.

what about the access for wheelchair users , my electric wheelchair wont get up that step, parents with children in buggys and pushchairs cant get up that step eithier
nore will prams , and children in special needs buggys wont get up that step either.
if you have any mobility problem that step is a nightmare!
i was told by the post office when they were doing the conseltation , that this was being looked into. ,
looks like nothing has happend so far.
to be honest it would have been far better if the new post office had remained as part of the new B & m. there wouldnt have been an access or parking problem and everyone already new where it was.
failing that im sure there was a former shop close by which had better access to parking and better access in general in our high street
