Pupils strike gold at rowing tournament

Youngsters from St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School in Station Road won gold medals at the national indoor rowing championships in Birmingham.

St Dominic’s shone in the under-11 sections as Francesca Scott, Olivia O’Dunne, Aoife French-Henry and Rachel Humphreys won gold in the team event. Francesca also won an individual silver, Olivia claimed a bronze and Joe Stone won bronze for the boys.

The championships took place at the National Indoor Arena and also saw medal successes for Trentham Boat Club’s junior team. Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent, the Olympic rowing gold medallists, have won titles at the event in the past.

    Wow !! i never new this was online. i also was 2 metres away from being 3rd indavidual (cant spell) and keep practising xx <3
