Recruitment drive by Stone Mum & Daughter

The Stone owners of a new £1.3 million luxury beauty salon and bistro in Newcastle Under Lyme are launching a recruitment drive.

Mum and daughter team, Debbie and Jess Tams are currently overseeing the development work at Beauty and the Bistro in Brunswick House, Basford. Their business venture is scheduled to open later in the year with the creation of 54 jobs.

An informal recruitment open day will take place in the Wells Room at the Moat House Best Western Plus at Festival Park on Monday, July 30th between 12 pm and 4 pm They’ll be recruiting for several roles including:

  • Waiters and waitresses
  • Aesthetic therapists
  • Bar staff
  • Beauty therapists
  • Chefs (all levels)
  • Human resource managers
  • Nail technicians
  • IT and marketing assistants
  • Kitchen staff/porters
  • Laser technicians
  • Mixologists
  • Salon managers

Debbie, who’s previously run several successful businesses and has a Master’s Degree in Economics, says they can’t wait to add to their team:

The 51-year-old said: “We have already recruited a number of really talented staff, but this is a big venture and we need to make sure we’ve got the right team in place.

“We’ve got some exciting roles to fill and we’re inviting people to pop along to find out about Beauty and the Bistro and our culture. If they like what they see and hear they can apply for one of the positions and take a job description and application form home with them to fill in at their leisure. Although we’re not opening until later in the year, we want to make sure that the team we recruit have a full induction and two months of training.

“We’re looking to create a little bit of luxury in North Staffordshire and for that our team at Beauty and the Bistro will be our biggest asset. Therefore we would really like to create a happy working environment and will be investing heavily in training for every employee. Excellence is never an accident.”

The salon will offer a wide range of services to both men and women including:

• Skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing treatments
• Clinical treatment of medical and hereditary skin conditions using state of the art lasers
• Microdermabrasion
• Laser hair removal, tanning, waxing, facials
• Eyebrow and eyelash treatments including microblading
• Cellulite reduction
• Massages and body treatments
• Relaxation suite and mud chamber
• Tattoo removal (using the Picosure Laser – officially the fastest and most comfortable system in the world)
• An open plan contemporary nail bar

The bistro will combine British and Italian menus with fine wine and a cocktail bar set in modern and elegant surroundings.

Jess, a 27-year-old business graduate, added: “We’ve got a wide range of jobs available, from salon managers to chefs but whatever the role we want every member of our team to be experienced, conscientious and reliable. We’re really looking forward to meeting potential staff at the open day. They’re welcome to bring a CV if they have one but it’s not a problem if they haven’t as the event will be informal and it’s for potential employees to find out as much about us and the business as it is for us to find out about them. Our staff handbook is already written and ready to go, we just need our staff now!”
