Regent Theatre to host socially-distanced panto thanks to lottery funding

Stoke PantoThanks to the support of the National Lottery, The Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent,  are pleased to announce that they will be staging a socially-distanced pantomime of Robinson Crusoe this Christmas time.

The Regent Theatre, part of the Ambassador Theatre Group have also announced that all tickets for the first performance of this year’s pantomime will be gifted to NHS workers and their families.

The production is able to go ahead thanks to the support of The National Lottery, giving thousands of theatregoers in Stoke-on-Trent and across the country, the chance to enjoy socially distanced pantomimes this Christmas. This initiative between The National Lottery and Qdos Entertainment is providing financial support for theatres to stage socially distanced live pantomimes making it viable for venues to open their doors to the general public, generating vital income for the theatre and helping to restore jobs whilst also providing much-needed cheer.

“We are very excited to announce that Stoke will have a Panto this year with your usual favourites back on stage, thanks to Qdos Entertainment and the amazing support from The National Lottery.

Being able to keep this festive family tradition alive after such a difficult year feels very special and the support of The National Lottery will enable us to bring some fun and happiness to the people of Stoke-on-Trent, and it will also support some of our fantastic Regent Theatre team as they return to work on this special show.

It should come as no surprise that the new production will be packed full of comedy routines, audience-safe participation and all the unmissable magic that Regent audiences have come to expect from their annual festive pantomime. The previously advertised production of Cinderella will be staged in 2021 and existing bookers have already been contacted with details of their new tickets.

ROBINSON CRUSOE at Stoke-on-Trent’s Regent Theatre will star Jonathan Wilkes as Robinson Crusoe and Christian Patterson as Mrs Crusoe and will run from Saturday 19 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021.
