Regulars sign up to save The Vine

Hundreds of people have signed a petition to keep The Vine open after plans were submitted to demolish the pub in Oulton Road and build a small housing estate.

Regulars have launched the petition in an attempt to persuade Stafford Borough Council to turn down the planning application by Birmingham-based Internetbase Ltd.

The petition is available at the pub and at venues nearby, including the corner shop in Oulton Road. Around 300 people are thought to have added their name so far to save the pub, which will celebrate its 200th birthday next year if it escapes demolition.
