Last night, we were taken back to 1980s New York where we met the students of a performing arts high school.
Featuring the classic hit ‘Fame’, the show gave us a feel for what life was like for students aspiring for careers in the arts through song and dance. And we very quickly learned that it wasn’t an easy road.
If you enjoy dancing, this show is most definitely for you. The cast are all immensely talented in both the singing and dancing areas, and a special mention must be given to Stephanie Rojas playing the role of Carmen. Her vocals simply blew the roof of the Regent off, alongside Mica Paris with her solo of ‘These Are My Children’ which left the whole audience in awe.
The show does feature a lot of slow songs, and though they were powerful it would’ve been nice to have a few more changes in pace. Despite a large technical fault at the beginning of the performance, the cast delivered a great show and managed to remain professional.
