RSPCA appeal after dog shot in the head

The RSPCA has appealed for information after the body of a greyhound that had apparently been shot in the head was dumped in Stone.

The body of a male, cream-coloured dog was found in Washdale, Old Road, Oulton Heath, Stone, on 10th September. The body was examined and it appears the dog had been shot in the head.

RSPCA inspector Laura Bryant said: “The dog had a small hole in his head which indicates it is likely that he had been shot. There are no other obvious injuries to the dog. It is not known how long the body had been left at the location and we need to find out more about what happened here.”
