Rustique Living buys The Old Smithy in Sandon

Rustique Living has bought The Old Smithy in Sandon after four years of running the business from the historic building.

The homeware and furniture business has purchased the property from the Sandon Estate, giving it a permanent base at The Old Smithy on Hilderstone Road.

The business said the purchase gives it security and a foundation to continue growing, after first making the building its home four years ago.

Joel, business director at Rustique Living, told A Little Bit of Stone:

“It is a genuine privilege to own such a historic and iconic building. ‘The Old Smithy’ has been the home of Rustique Living for 4 years now and in that time the business has gone from strength to strength.

“Owning our premises gives Rustique Living the platform to be a mainstay and continue to deliver quality homeware pieces at affordable prices. This has been a massive accomplishment for the business and I am confident that this is just the beginning of the journey for Rustique Living!”

Rustique Living sells rustic homeware, furniture and other pieces from its Sandon shop and online. The business said that now the purchase is complete, attention will return to sourcing new stock for both the shop and website.

Upcoming deliveries are expected to include the return of Kadai fire pits, one-off furniture pieces and a new range of garden planters.

In a post announcing the purchase, Joel thanked customers, friends and family who had supported the business so far.

Rustique Living is based at The Old Smithy, Hilderstone Road, Sandon, ST18 0DU.
