Family and friends of Becky Tait, the young woman from Stone who died after being hit by a train on Sunday 9th November, released sky lanterns and balloons on Saturday evening in her memory.
Over 50 people gathered at Westbridge Park on 15th November for the emotional tribute, organised by Becky’s close friend and former partner Jamie Stanway.
The Sentinel spoke to some of the people who attended. You can read their report HERE
Some of the people who took part in the vigil released balloons instead of sky lanterns after safety concerns were raised about the releasing of sky lanterns. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s official stance on sky lanterns is that people do not release them.
