In August 2012 St John’s church closed their doors on Granville Terrace and moved its Sunday Services to Walton Priory Middle School, from April 2017 they will be making another move
The move from Granville Terrace, although difficult, had some unexpected and encouraging outcomes for the church including the involvement in a number of activities within the community.
Last year, in conjunction with Midlands Psychology, the church set up CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other) – a community ‘drop in’ which now meets each Thursday from 2 – 4 pm at Walton Community Centre. CAMEO is open to all and provides free refreshments and an opportunity for folks to meet.
The involvement with Walton Community Centre has been very positive for the church and as result of this relationship from the first weekend in April the regular Sunday Services will be moving to the Community Centre. The first Sunday Services will take place on Sunday April 2nd at 10.30 am and 6 pm and going forwards there will be two services each Sunday at 10:30 and 6 pm; all are welcome.
The church are very much looking forward to the move, but also want to say how enormously grateful they are to Walton Priory Middle School for their friendship, hospitality and support during the last four and half years, they really hope to maintain their links with the school.
