Stone ADHD Community launches new peer support group

A new monthly peer support group is being launched in Stone for people affected by ADHD.

Poster for Stone ADHD Community, a monthly ADHD peer support group at The Pumphouse, 1st Stone Scout Hut, starting Thursday 30 July.

Stone ADHD Community will meet on the last Thursday of each month from Thursday 30 July, with sessions running from 6pm to 8pm at The Pumphouse, 1st Stone Scout Hut, ST15 8JJ.

The group is open to anyone aged 14 and over who has an ADHD diagnosis, thinks they may have ADHD, or supports someone with ADHD, including parents, carers, family members and friends.

Organisers say the sessions will offer a relaxed space where people can have a cuppa, share experiences, ask questions, listen, or simply spend time with others who understand.

As the group grows, there are plans to bring in occasional guest speakers and more structured sessions, including input from clinical professionals where possible.

Staffordshire District Lead Daisy Edwards said

“Very proud of the 2 leaders who came together to create such a wonderful idea and definitely fill a gap in our local support system!

Kirsty Outhwaite and Alan Smewing are doing a fantastic job behind the scenes, and our district will give them as much support as possible with free use of the scout building and supplying the tea/coffee etc.

“Couldn’t be more proud of our volunteers!”

More information is available from the Stone ADHD Community Facebook page.
