Stone children inspired by Victoria Hall show

Hundreds of schoolchildren from Stone will be performing at the Victoria Hall in Hanley on Monday 17th March in a special concert called ‘INSPIRE’.

The evening’s entertainment will include drama, inspirational songs and a swing band. In total 400 pupils will take part led by guest conductor Cath Jose. This evening of entertainment would not be possible without the support of Staffordshire County Council who have donated £1,000 towards the cost of this adventurous project. Cllr Phillip Jones will kick off the concert with a welcome speech before the children sing their hearts out. The concert is called INSPIRE and its aim is to ensure that as many pupils as possible are inspired by music and work together as a team brought together through a shared love of music.

The programme for the evening includes songs from popular musicals as well as traditional inspirational songs.

The concert has been organised by a team of teachers representing each school under the leadership of the recently retired headteacher Mary Gale, who until a few months ago was the longstanding headteacher of St Michael’s First School in Stone.

Almost 700 tickets have been sold at a cost of £6 each. Further tickets can be purchased through any of the schools in Stone.
