A Halloween “spooktacular” special will be broadcast on Saturday 31 October, hosted by Stone Radio, the volunteer-run, community online radio station for Stone.
The Teatime Titterers presenters, Carol Lake and Paul Milgate-Scarrott, will be joined by West Midlands-based musician Andy Webster, who performs under the name Brains for Breakfast.
Carol said: “During our Halloween Spooktacular, we have hauntingly good music and devilishly good fun. We will be joined by Brains for Breakfast, who will be premiering two singles for us. It’s going to be a great night.”
The special show will be airing on the station’s website stoneradio.co.uk between 6pm – 8pm on Saturday 31 October.
Paul Dean, Stone Radio director and programme manager, said: “It’s great to be offering the listeners of Stone Radio this special Halloween special in a year that has been so challenging and on a Halloween that will be like no other.
“Halloween celebrations can’t be the same this year, but we don’t see this as a reason to stop celebrations. We look forward to listeners from Stone, and from further afield, joining us for a fantastic mix of music and the premier of two singles from Brains for Breakfast.”
Stone Radio typically broadcasts every Sunday over the internet and all shows are available at any time on a ‘listen again’ basis. The station aims to serve and engage with the local community, with a real focus on the feel of the station, in keeping with the strap line as the ‘Web’s Brightest Radio Station.
The station has a huge variety of shows, offering an eclectic mix of music, chat, interviews and local news and gossip.
The project survives through the generosity of its sponsors, with local companies and groups sponsoring shows supplemented by other donations from local businesses and the organisers of events using the outside broadcast facilities.
