Stone’s Farmers’ Market is set to return to the town’s High Street for the first market of 2021 as it sets up in the town centre on Saturday 1st May.
The popular market will take place on Saturday 1 May in the town’s High Street.
The Stone markets in February, March and April were cancelled as a measure to help reduce the spread of Covid-19, however, Stafford Borough Council now say measures will be in place to ensure the market adheres to Government Covid-19 guidelines including signage to remind people about social distancing and track and trace QR codes.
At a recent Stone Town Council meeting, the councillors voted in favour to allow the market to utilise the market square for the market stalls, an area that they usually lease to The Lounge for alfresco drinks and dining.
The event in Stone takes place on the first Saturday of the month, with no market in January and often a double market in December.
Robert Simpson, Head of Operations at the Borough Council, said:
“We are very pleased that the Farmers’ Markets will be returning to the area in May. We will have measures in place to help make the markets safe for our stallholders and visitors.”
