As part of their fundraising activities, Stone Town Mayor & Mayoress invite you to a pig racing night at Stone Golf Club in January.
The Stone Mayor is using the event to raise money for the Crown Wharf Theatre Charity who are raising funds to create a theatre for the community to use at the new Joule’s Crown Wharf development.
The pig racing event will take place at Stone Golf Club on Friday 24th January 2020, from 7pm.
Tickets for the family-friendly event cost £7.50 each, which includes a Pork bap and chips! A cash bar will also be available for the duration of the event.
The first race gets underway at 7.30pm and you can bet 20p on as many (six pigs per race) of the battery-operated pigs in each race as you want.
Those placing bets against the winning pig will win money, the value of which depends on the total collected for the race and calculated odds.
There will be opportunities to sponsor and name a pig in each race and the owner of the winning pig also wins a prize!
For the eighth and final race, an auction and a percentage of the income generated from this race goes to the person who sponsored the winning pig.
Tickets for the event are available from Stone Town Council, 15 Station Road, Stone, ST15 8JP.
