Stone Revellers are holding auditions this Sunday for their Covid delayed production – Return to the Forbidden Planet, have you made a new years resolution to get on stage!?
The Stone Revellers have had to postpone this show for 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the show is now rescheduled to take place in April 2022!
If you’re interested in auditioning, then the theatre group have provided the following feedback on characters they are looking to cast:
- Dr Prospero – a mad scientist marooned for 15 years of the planet Illyria, Old enough to be Miranda’s father so appears to be a mature man. Audition Song – Monster Mash
- Cookie – the ship’s cook and a hopeless romantic, Younger than Tempest – Falls for Miranda. Audition Song – Great Balls of Fire
- Ariel – a hip robot, Any age and gender – Cool Robot but think Ariel in the Tempest or Puck in Midsummer Nights Dream, NOT A DALEK. Audition Song – The Young Ones.
- Newscaster / Narrator – (on a video screen, but preferably live.) Has longer prologues in verse. Actor can opt to just be the newscaster (which will be a small part with a fairly modest commitment to rehearsal or also be a member of the chorus. If intending to be part of the Chorus – Audition Song – The Young Ones
- The Ship’s Company – All the chorus members will be defined characters playing members of the crew with backstories and distinct personalities. Individuals in the company will perform any smaller roles. Audition Song – The Young Ones
Auditions are to be held at St Michael’s Community Hall, Lichfield Street, Stone ST15 8BB on Sunday 30th January 2022 at 2.30pm

Performance dates Wednesday 6 April to Saturday 9 April (inc. Matinee) 2022
Set Build – Saturday / Sunday 2nd /3rd April
Technical /Dress Monday / Tuesday 4th / 5th April
