The directors of the Stone Traders Group, a group that represents many of the town centre shops and businesses, has issued a passionate plea for support at this troubling time.
The statement reads:
“The current situation regarding the rise of coronavirus cases in our town is a tragedy for Stone, especially the small businesses affected.
Unfortunately, it appears the events in one local business over the weekend of 18/19 July has now affected us all. Please be reassured that the local traders within the town are taking this very seriously. Stone is a beautiful and quiet canal town, full of independent businesses, run by local people that care deeply and regard your safety as their top priority. Since lockdown was eased the traders have been taking every measure possible to ensure that you feel confident to venture out into our wonderful town, without putting yourself at risk.
Stone continues to be open for business with many proud of the safety measures put into place. We really do you need your support, now more than ever and if anyone visits our town and does not feel safe in a particular business, please let us know via our social media Facebook page @stoneiswheretheheartis and we will discuss your feedback with the relevant businesses, as a matter of urgency.“
Please also don’t forget that many of the traders set up online stores during the lockdown period so please feel free to give them a visit online too!
