Stone venues confirm plans for England’s late night World Cup match

England fans in Stone now have more options confirmed for where they can watch the team’s next World Cup match.

Mexico vs England

Mexico v England kicks off at 1am on Monday 6 July, with the match being shown live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Pubs and bars in England and Wales are able to stay open until 5am for the match, but venues still need to decide whether they are opening.

Venues who have confirmed to A Little Bit of Stone that they’ll be showing the match:

The Red Lion has confirmed it will be open and showing the match.

The Bridge has also confirmed it will be open and showing the match.

Lymestone Brewery will open its doors at midnight and show the match.

Awaiting final confirmation

The Swan hopes to be open and showing the match, but is awaiting final confirmation.

Venues who often show sport, but are not showing the match

The Poste of Stone, Wetherspoon, has said it will not be staying open, so it will not be showing the match.

The Lamb has also said it will not be open for the match.

The Crown and Anchor has said it will not be open and will not be showing the match.

A Little Bit of Stone will update this guide if more venues confirm their plans.

Supporters heading out are advised to check directly with venues before travelling, especially as the match is taking place in the early hours of Monday morning.
