Stone Young Enterprise Team Set to Release their First Children’s Book

ACT WebsiteIn the September of 2021, a group of 16-17-year-olds from Alleyne’s Academy, Stone, came together to participate in a Young Enterprise competition. However, they soon discovered that they had been given the opportunity to achieve something much greater by making a difference in society.

The team have sent through the following article to explain their story and details of what they are doing.

ACT is a company that strives for social change.

The social impact of the murders of George Floyd and Sarah Everard were monumental and whilst these events were awful, they have sparked movements across the world. However, these are not the only names that our society has failed. Rayshard Brooks, Bobby Seale, Ava White. For too long we have neglected the rising issues of racism and sexual harassment and have only responded when the noise has become too loud to drown out.

As a business, the team help to raise awareness for these voices and provide support to our listeners through links on our websites to helplines and our other humanitarian endeavours.

In November 2021, four members of the team were invited to a Dragon’s Den event, at Michelin in Stoke on Trent, in which they received vital feedback to aid the start up of their business.

ACT BooksIn addition to their podcast, set to release at the end of February on Spotify, their children’s storybook is scheduled to be released this year (February) and aims to educate the younger generation, on important social issues such as climate change, racism and sexual harassment. Their first book in the series is the story that follows a Mother polar bear on a quest to find her baby polar bear. The story follows them through a journey in the North Pole, alongside addressing issues around global warming, climate change and plastic pollution, in a manner that can be easily interpreted by children. The book will be made out of 100% recycled paper and include zero plastic waste.

Additionally, ACT releases Articles every other “Awareness Wednesday” which can be found on their website.

The release of the book will be announced on their social media platforms and website!

Join them on their journey, that will not only change the lives of our survivors but will also change the lives of our children and their children to come.

By using their business as a driving force for impact, they have the ability to make a change. It is time to ACT. Will you join them in making a stand for safety in a better society?
