
Residents of Stone will be coming together on the 13th November 2016 to remember those who have given, and those who continue to give, their service for our great country.
The now customary Service of Remembrance will be held at the Walton War Memorial, Whitemill Lane, Walton, commencing at 9.50 a.m. Then will follow the annual parade, together with a Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in Granville Square and later at the Parish Church of St. Michael and St. Wulfad.
The arrangement are as follows: –
- 10.15 a.m. Parade Personnel to assemble at the bottom of the High Street.
- 10.35 a.m. Parade to proceed along High Street to the Cenotaph.
- 10.45 a.m. Presentation of Wreaths
- 11.00 a.m. Two Minutes Silence and Service of Remembrance.
At the conclusion of the Service at the Cenotaph, the Parade will proceed to Parish Church of St. Michael and St. Wulfad via High Street and Church Street led by Stone Town Band, where the Colour and Standard Bearers are requested to line up at the entrance to the Church, and when instructed enter the Church, present their Colours, and then take the seats reserved for them.
The Colour Parties will receive back their Colours during the final hymn, and after the Service the Parade Personnel led by Stone Scout and Guide Band, will assemble and proceed via the High Street to Market Square. The Parade will then dismiss at the top of the High Street.
