Stone In Bloom will be planting daffodil and crocus bulbs around the town on Sunday morning (13th October) – and everyone is welcome to lend a hand.
The dark nights are drawing in and the autumnal weather is starting to hit, but Stone in Bloom are already thinking ahead to next spring and the group will meet at 9.30am on Sunday at Stone Canoe Club on Westbridge Park.
And there’s a special treat for everyone who takes part – free soup and bread at the Royal Exchange pub after the bulb planting.
Jill Hood, Stone In Bloom secretary, said: “It would be great to see people on Sunday morning. If you are able to join us, please bring a friend and tools (as we only have a limited amount to share). Children will be made very welcome too.
“Everyone who comes along is more than welcome to come along to the Royal Exchange afterwards for soup and bread. Thank you very much to the Royal Exchange for the soup and to Stone Baked for providing the bread – two wonderful local businesses that are right at the heart of the Stone community.
“The Stone In Bloom group look forward to sharing creaking joints and bad backs on Sunday – and lots of smiles too!”
Stone In Bloom recently won a gold medal in the Heart of England in Bloom Large Town category for 2013 – the seventh gold medal in a row! More on that HERE – and it’s community events like this one that go so much towards their amazing success.
