Ten ways to celebrate this years Staffordshire Day

Attractions, community groups and residents in Staffordshire have joined forces to help create a packed programme for the fourth Staffordshire Day.

The county celebration, organised by Enjoy Staffordshire, supported by Staffordshire County Council and the county’s other local authorities, returns on Wednesday 1st May, with plenty of events and special offers to enjoy within Stafford and beyond.

As the day itself falls midweek, the celebrations have been extended to include the weekend before and the weekend after, so there are events to enjoy from Saturday 27th April to Monday 6th May.

Enjoy a second hour on the FlipOut trampolines free of charge by quoting WeLoveStaffs when you book (Saturday 4th-Monday 6th only), and 30% off the supercar driving experiences at Drive Me with the code StaffsDay30.

Take on a challenge for the Katharine House Hospice, tackle a supreme local delicacy at Canalside Farm’s oatcake morning, relax with the Mindful in Nature workshop at The Wolseley Centre, and browse the work of some great local artists at The Guildhall Gallery.

Celebrate our canals at the Norbury Canal Festival, learn about the restoration of Ingestre Orangery at their family open day, hear from Staffordshire crime writers at Stafford Library, and cheer on the brave local actors baring all for The Full Monty at the Gatehouse Theatre.

Philip Atkins, Leader at Staffordshire County Council, said:

“We’re delighted with the way people have rallied to the Staffordshire Day cause and there are lots of ways to get involved in Stafford.

“The day is all about celebrating what’s great about our county and just how much there is on offer for visitors.

“In Stafford alone there are a wealth of events and special offers to celebrate our attractions, natural beauty, history and heritage.

“It promises to be a great day and we hope as many people as possible turn out and show their pride in their county.”

There are more than 50 events to enjoy across the county throughout the celebrations, highlighting the range of visitor attractions on offer in Staffordshire and helping communities show their pride in their county.
