The Wayfarer was named as the best brasserie / contemporary pub in the county at this year’s Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards.
The country pub and restaurant at The Filleybrooks in Stone beat Stafford’s The Swan Hotel and The Shropshire Inn from Haughton to the prestigious title at an awards ceremony at The Moat House Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent on Monday night. Judges’ comments for The Wayfarer included:
We could not fault the service. It was thoroughly professional and customers were looked after with good social skills and immaculate timing. It is the sort of place you would feel confident in recommending or taking friends to
We were made to feel welcome from start to finish and I feel they will always be busy if they continue to display such high levels of professional hospitality
The steak was good quality meat, cooked exactly as ordered and the chips were fantastic.
Congratulations also to Stone’s Lymestone Brewery, a finalist in the Food Manufacturer of the Year award.
The Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards are held each year to celebrate quality and distinctiveness in the food and drink that is produced and served in Staffordshire.
