Thousands at service of remembrance

Thousands of people gathered in the town centre on Sunday 14th November for Stone’s service of remembrance.

The service was led by Rev Ian Cardinal from St Michael and St Wulfad’s Church and Stone Town Band provided the music, including a lone buglar for The Last Post.

Around 60 wreaths were laid at the war memorial in Granville Square by representatives from community groups, charities, schools, political parties and forces’ associations. Around 2,000 people surrounded the war memorial for the service, with the crowd stretching down the High Street to watch the parade and to pay their respects.

Many thanks to Paul Mitchell for the two photographs that he took from an upstairs window at Granvilles.
