Graffiti on the side of The Dezign Studio on Radford Street

More graffiti has been sprayed in Stone, this time on Radford Street, including on the railway bridge and on the windows of the marketing suite for the apartments on the corner of Kings Avenue.

The graffiti was sprayed sometime on Friday night or the early hours of Saturday.

  • Disgraceful, flog them !!!!

  • This is pathetic.  Haven’t they got anything better to do with themselves? Cant they think of anything constructive to do?  When they get caught, they should be made to clean the whole town up.  They wont be laughing then!

  • why do people feel so upset about this? its a kid enjoying himself, its easily cleaned off.

    • Show us how easy it is Dave, come and help.

    • I’ve just been out helping a volunteer group with some cleaning. It is NOT easy to clean off masonry and brickwork and it costs money, even with loads of volunteers. The tools and materials to do the job don’t come free, and in the case of The Dezign Room it may require additional repair as it is not a paint finish. Perhaps you could help too? This is unlikely to be a naive ‘kid’ either, it was done in the early hours. Graffiti brings down the image of a neighbourhood and encourages more graffiti and litter and shows a lack of care. I live nearby and I’m upset. I don’t want my neighbourhood trashed.

“In the graffiti community, putting yourself out there is the main thing,” he says. “If I don’t do anything, I feel like a nobody. But if my name sticks in someone’s head and then he meets me, it’s like I’m a celebrity.”

This is a quote from “Reskew” a New York gaffitti “artist”.

In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes, said Andy Warhol. This is an attempt from someone with very little self-worth to bolster their diminutive ego!

  • this isnt people from stone…..in my eyes this is an outside job

Can’t imagine why someone (even though this person is obviously a complete moron) would travel into Stone to do this. Forget about the artistic angle, it’s not as if the offender didn’t know they were doing wrong.

    Sickening.
So many people put in so much effort to make Stone such a super place to live and the act of a selfish few has tainted that. Shame on them.
I hope they think about that when they are cuaght and have to clean it all up.

Totally agree. Can’t quite believe how bad Radford St looks – a great sight for people travelling through the town 🙁

  • Absolutely mindless.  I can understand that graffiti is seen as art but the town is not a canvas!
Let’s hope a member of the public or some CCTV picks up these vandals and they are made to clear it up.
