The Labour in Vain in Yarnfield could be turned into a yarn shop, café and community hub after an offer was accepted for the pub.

Yarnfield and Cold Meece Parish Council said it had received a notice of intention to dispose of the pub from Stafford Borough Council, as the building is listed as an asset of community value.
In a post on Wednesday 3 June, the parish council said councillors had met the prospective owners of the Labour in Vain that morning.
The meeting followed a decision by current owners Stonegate to accept an offer to buy the Yarnfield Lane pub.
The prospective owners are Yarnivorous Community Interest Company, which intends to transform the building into a multi-use daytime and evening hub.
According to the parish council, the first focus would be a premium yarn shop promoting British yarns. Future plans include workshops, teaching classes and a licensed café.
The project is being treated by Yarnivorous CIC as a long-term plan which could take several years to reach its full potential. In the short term, improvements to the outside of the building and car park would be a priority.
The parish council said the proposed change from a pub to a retail outlet would require planning permission.
The Labour in Vain was listed as an asset of community value in 2023 after a nomination by Yarnfield and Cold Meece Parish Council. The listing means eligible community groups have certain rights when a listed asset is put up for sale, including time to prepare a potential bid.
The parish council said it had no further information about the plans at this stage.
