The teenager, thought to be 17, was treated at the scene by a former community first responder and an off-duty firefighter until paramedics arrived and took her to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Her condition is not thought to be serious.

The firefighter said: “While speaking with her she said she came out of Mill Street and skidded on gravel on the road. She will be fine. Her back, hips neck and spine were fine, she was just shook up. Members of public helped with traffic control until the police arrived. It  was a good effort from everyone involved.”
